Meet the Team: Joelle Lurie

Welcome aboard Joelle!

The BES team became a bit more harmonious this year with the addition of Joelle Lurie. The nationally-traveled performer, songwriter, and entrepreneur recently planted roots in Boston and has brought her skills to Benson Executive Search. “I’m passionate about hearing about our clients’ needs and then going into the investigation mode to try and get them that perfect person. It excites me to both find that diamond and set that person up for success, and also make the client feel that we found the person that they needed.”

It’s not just belting out jazz and pop that has been a passion for Lurie, however. Lurie loves the team at BES, and the love was born during the interview process. “I met with five people before they offered me the job and I loved each person more than the next. Everyone is different in beautiful ways and complements each other. I just felt that I wanted to be their friend and I felt that I could learn from them.”

Lurie recognizes this is a critical time in the world of recruiting with people resigning more than ever. “People are rebalancing their lives in different ways – the people that you are searching for – it’s a lot about timing, if they’re ready to make a move, the opportunity has to have the flexibility that they’ve grown accustomed to. We in turn advise our clients appropriately – we’re good at keeping our clients educated on the current needs and the current landscape of the market.”

When she’s not in the office, she’s on the trails with her dog Maggie, working it on the peloton, and returning to Tavern in the Green in New York City once a month to dazzle audiences there with her jazz. “If I could have one superpower,” says Lurie, “I would want to talk to Maggie, and hear what she would be saying – or even if I could have subtitles in my head for her thoughts!”

Welcome Joelle!
