C-Suite Conversation: Alex Glazier and Ali Erickson, New England Donor Services

We were recently joined by Alex Glazier and Ali Erickson from the New England Donor Services (NEDS) to discuss how their roles as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Administrative Officer, respectively, intersect and how their collaboration helps the organization flourish.

Erickson gives background on the current efforts to attract talent and create employee development programs, which both attribute to high retention rates. For example, a mentor program allows participants to learn about different sectors of the organ donation process by shadowing senior leaders in various sectors, creating employees who are well-versed in all aspects of the organization.

President and CEO Alex Glazier highlights the proactive, mission-driven work of the company which brings purpose to employees and is driving success. Their proactive approach guides a culture of trust employees have fostered, making their work more effective.

At 2:18 Ali discusses how NEDS attracts and retains talent. She mentions that a big part of the attraction for potential hires is the company’s inspiring mission. The retention comes from features such as the training program offered to employees,  creating a sense of community, and curiosity in the workplace.

At 5:01 Alexandra and Allison talk about how their relationship flourishes to help the broader organization. They outline how a clear vision lines up human and financial resources, and, such regular communication yields year-after-year success and growth.

Ali emphasizes the need for an aligned leadership team at 6:13 to create a positive work environment for employees and understand the nuances of each different position within the Donor process.
