C-Suite Conversation: Dr. Jarik Conrad

We were recently joined by Dr. Jarik Conrad, Author, Keynote Speaker, Executive Coach, and Strategic Advisor at his own company, Human Like Me. Dr. Conrad discusses the importance of protecting employees from burnout and keeping workforces healthy.

At 0:38, Dr. Conrad talks about the impact that burnout can have on a workforce, and how to help combat it from weighing down a workforce. He underscores how HR leaders can recognize burnout and put innovations in place to deal with it. With the right tools in place, HR leaders can encourage employees to come forward with any burnout concerns they may be experiencing, and this, in turn, can allow HR teams to provide them with the necessary resources to succeed.

Then at 2:24, he shares how the topic of mental health, though now talked about more frequently in organizations, still needs to be more robustly understood by HR leaders. HR leaders must come up with and employ mechanisms for employees to reach out about their struggles if and when they are encountered - either within or oustide of work. And, one of the first mechanisms can be the invitation itself to reach out, without stigma, and understand the resources available to them to support their mental health.
